Concluding the First Annual meeting of the China-Pakistan Think Tanks on Sunday, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Masood Khalid, hailed the success of this new venture and seemed hopeful for future developments through direct exchange of ideas and knowledge.

Ambassador Khalid termed the meeting as extremely purposeful and reiterated the importance of Gwadar port project that will open gateways to a new era of economic revival for both countries. Khalid maintained that Gwadar port remained the main topic of discussion throughout the meeting, which shows that both sides are highly motivated to work for the economic progress of this region.

Reemphasizing on the importance of Pakistan-China ties, the Ambassador acknowledged the international trips of both PM Nawaz Sharif and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang. He said the high-level visits to both countries have conveyed a message that Pakistan and China stand together as friends.

“In fact, we have seen this inherent strength of the relationship on display when the near-simultaneous change of leadership in China and Pakistan was followed almost immediately by high-level visits,” the ambassador said.

Ambassador Khalid also took the opportunity to acknowledge the work being done by the Pakistan Study Centers at Tsinghua and Peking Universities, Fudan University in Shanghai and the Sichuan University in Chengdu. He appreciated the outstanding efforts of these institutes in the field of education and especially for encouraging cultural exchanges between the two countries.
