A complete shutter down strike loomed over Sindh yesterday after the announcement of a strike in the province by the Sindh Bachayo Committee, a coalition of Sindhi nationalist groups, on Saturday. The strike was called in protest against the entering Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Sindh even though the Chief Minister of Sindh, Qaim Ali Shah, had announced that the IDPs will not be allowed to enter the territory of Sindh. Relief camps will be set up on the border of Sindh instead.

The IDPs have been refused to enter the province as there is a danger of terrorists entering the province using the disguise of IDPs. The shutter down strike observed across Larkana district. Due to the strike all business and industrial centers were kept close and even the petrol pumps were shut for the day. Hardly any traffic was seen on the roads. This Tuesday saw the workers of Jiye Sindh Qaumi Muhaz (JSQM), Sindh United Party (SUP) and other nationalist groups participate in the sit-in led by Dr. Mumtaz Shaikh and Mazhar Mughal among other leaders.
