The Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Shairf is expected to leave for the United States on the 24th of September and attend the Un General Assembly on the 26th of September  in New York, an official informed this Thursday.

The Prime Minister has been cancelling most of his foreign trips due to the Azadi March and the Inqilab March who have been demanding his resignation and have refused to leave Islamabad until they achieve their demands are fulfilled. The Foreign Office official informed that the plan was still tentative due to domestic compulsions. The Prime Minister will send his representative if he is unable to travel to the United States.

The Foreign Office spokeswoman Tasnim Aslam said at her weekly briefing that it has been a long-standing practice to participate in the high-level segment of UN General Assembly at the leadership level and to make a policy statement which projects Pakistan’s perspective on vital issues of interest according to BS. “As regards the high level 69th Session of General Assembly, details are still being worked out and once we have a decision we will share it,” she said. She was also questioned about whether the Indian Prime Minister and the Pakistani Prime Minister will take place in the UN. Answering this Aslam said, “Whenever Pakistani leadership attends the UNGA session, the occasion is utilised to interact with other world leaders.”
