This Monday, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) entered into the protest by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaded by their ministers and tried to get the roads of Faisalabad cleared. What they did not know was that they were actually changing a peaceful protest into a violent one. As the PML-N workers entered the scene and tried to force the PTI workers out of the area, the PTI supporters also retaliated which lead to bloodshed.

About three workers of PTI were killed by the bullets fired by PML-N workers whereas several were injured in the protest. The PTI leader Imran Khan had given a call to his supporters in Faisalabad that they should block the roads of the city and perform peaceful sit-ins on five major roads of the city. It was an attempt by the former cricketer to pressurize the government to negotiate with the most popular party of the country.

The death of Haq Nawaz, 22, made the protest spread all over the country with people protesting in all major cities of the country. MPA Arif Abbasi told Dawn that PTI will block I.J. Principal Road near Khayaban-i-Sir Syed this Monday to protest the death of its worker. PTI workers and supporters will gather at Sadiqabad after Zohr prayer and will take out a rally on I.J. Principal Road, Abbasi said. PTI is also declared this Monday as Yaum-e-Soug due to the death of his young workers.
