D Is for Dog Blends 1950s Sitcom Fare, Horror and Sci-Fi
Hudson Mainstage Theatre (Hollywood, CA)
Life is not nearly as perfect as it seems in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rogers and their two darling children, Dick and Jane. The family’s idyllic sitcom existence is disrupted by mysterious phone calls and a forbidden book. D Is for Dog explores the themes of family loyalty and compassion using iconic imagery from 1950s television blended with elements of horror and science fiction. The play transports audiences from the absurd to the terrifying using a mixture of puppetry, live actors, original music and video projection. First presented by Rogue in 2011, the award-winning show returns this summer as part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival and beyond.
