Canadian-born crooner Paul Anka hit it big right out of the box, with his debut single, “Diana” in 1957, kicking off a mega-successful career with numerous Top 20 hits in the ’60s and ’70s, like “Lonely Boy,” “Put Your Head on My Shoulder,” “(You’re) Having My Baby” and “Puppy Love.” The teen idol went on to star in movies and TV shows, not to mention writing huge hits for Peter Cetera, Celine Dion, Kenny G, Patti LaBelle, and the late Michael Jackson, among other artists. His credits include The Tonight Show theme, Tom Jones’ “She’s a Lady,” and Jackson’s posthumous No. 1 hit “This Is It.”
