ING employees go on strike
Employees of ING in the northeast of the Netherlands have gone on a 24-hour strike, marking the first-ever such action by the bank’s employees, according to union officials. The strike involves customer service and office workers who are unhappy about the lack of a new collective labor agreement for the bank’s 14,000 employees.
The unions are demanding a 14.3% inflation compensation and a reduction in workload, as well as better working relationships. The strike has not impacted the bank’s operations, with all branches remaining open. However, more strikes could follow if ING fails to meet the unions‘ demands.
