The investors led by Murat Ersoy, the Director of Atlas Airlines said their visit is aimed at exploring more areas of investment in airlines, construction and energy sectors.

The delegation is comprised of different companies dealing in the relevant areas of interest.

The investors also target the textiles industries, road and water infrastructure and education development sectors.

Ronald Ruay Deng, the Chairperson of the South Sudan Chambers of Commerce welcomed the investors and urged South Sudanese traders to venture with them in a bid to move forward.

The Turkey’s delegation is the latest group of investors visiting South Sudan after several delegations from China, Japan, and Egypt made visits to the country after secession from Sudan last year.

The South Sudanese Minister of Commerce and investment early this month said government still have room for more investors.

However, there is a wide outcry from the private sector in the country of the need to improve security which many believe hampers investment opportunities in the country.

The British Ambassador to South Sudan early this month called for government to put more efforts to sort out insecurity challenges and corruption which he believes has negative impact on the growth of the private sector in the new nation.
