It is the era of remakes in Bollywood. Filmmakers have been picking up old classic songs and presenting it with the modern touch to the new generation of audience. From ‘The Humma Song’ to ‘Tamma Tamma Again’ to ‘Tu Cheez Badi Hai’, every old song has a new take.
Now, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, who is gearing up for his next directorial venture Indu Sarkar, is shooting a reloaded version of the qawwali ‘Chadta Sooraj Dheere Dheere’ by Aziz Naza for the upcoming film. On Monday, Madhur shared a photograph of the entire set which looks grand where over 10 qawwals are sitting. He captioned it as, “Shooting a reloaded version of the famous qawwali ‘Chadta Sooraj Dheere Dheere’ for film Indu Sarkar. Nostalgia.”
Helmed by Madhur Bhandarkar, Indu Sarkar features Kirti Kulhari, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles. The film is set in the 1970s when the emergency was announced in India. It is slated to release on July 28.
