Priyanka was shooting a very important scene for Bajirao Mastani on the evening of her birthday. It was expected to be wrapped up by 8.30 pm. So her mother decided to have an intimate birthday bash for Priyanka inviting her close friends and colleagues.

However, the scene stretched out to much longer than expected. And Priyanka was finally allowed to leave the sets at 10.30, a good hour and a half after her guests arrived.

Says a source, "All was well since Priyanka's director Sanjay Bhansali also joined her at the party. But Priyanka's poor mom had a tough time explaining to her guests while the birthday girl was missing from her own party."
