The Bollywood Fraternity praising the film and other Publications giving some high regards and positive reviews to Kai Po Che, I went and saw the film in a decent cinema hall. Despite keeping the fact in mind that Kai Po Che title would be understood only by ‘Gujrat’ audience or ‘Gujrati’ speaking people. While i am writing this Review, I still have no clue about the meaning of ‘Kai Po Che’.

The reason to explain this confusion of the movie’s title was, A Book is always judge by it’s cover. And a film is always a ‘Better Viewing’ experience, Once you relate to the Film’s Title.

Kai Po Che tells the story of three friends. Ishaan (Sushant Singh Rajput), Omi (Amit Sadh) and Govind (Raj Kumar Yadav). Ishaan chances upon a cricket prodigy, the cricket-crazy youth decides to take him under his wing and create the next legend. However, the prodigy, a young boy, is a Muslim and seeds of discord are sown between the friends when Omi’s right-wing Hindu uncle Bittu (Manav Kaul) and his politics divide the city in the aftermath of the Sabarmati Express tragedy. If things are not complicated enough, Govind is having a secret affair with Ishaan’s sister Vidya (Amrita Puri).

There’s nothing new in the movie which you haven’t seen earlier. The film also draws strong inspirations from all the ‘Friendship’ films in Bollywood Cinema, Especially Dil Chahta Hai and the director’s earlier film Rock On to name a few. The film has some Fantastic performances from Sushant Singh Rajput who looks confident and flawless, Amit Sadh who is just Superb, Amrita Puri and Manav Kaul who are first rate. And Raj Kumar Yadav who still ‘Over-Acts’ in some scenes (Some one please explain this actor to not to go ‘Extra-Natural’ when you are only required to be ‘Just Natural’).

Abhishek Kapoor is a Brilliant Film Maker, His last film Rock On still remains my favorite. I wonder why he chose to make a film on Chetan Bhagat’s novel? Was he attracted to a Friendship-Never-Dies idea? Or Gujrat Riots? But haven’t we seen a more serious film on this issue called ‘Parzania’? The camera work of the film is Top-Notch. The music also goes with the moving story very well.

The film is said to be an adaptation from Chetan Bhagat’s novel ‘3 Mistakes of my Life’. If yes, I am still trying to figure out what those 3 mistakes could have been? Maybe i am not fit to be a Film Critic, Or may be i don’t have a good film’s sense? But Hey! I love 3 Idiots!!!
