Commending American rock star Jon Bon Jovi, 51, for waiving fee for his upcoming concert in Madrid (Spain), Hindus argue that he is following “Bhagavad-Gita principles”.

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, pointed out that Bon Jovi’s selfless act to waive concert fee in crisis-hit Spain was directly out of ancient Hindu scripture Bhagavad-Gita (Song of the Lord), which said: “Act selflessly, without any thought of personal profit.”

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, urged other popular singers/groups like Madonna, U2, AC/DC, Bruce Springsteen, Britney Spears, Beyonce Knowles, Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Elton John, etc., also to deliver some free concerts in countries hit by economic crisis and developing nations.

Rajan Zed further said that Bhagavad-Gita clearly stated: “Strive constantly to serve the welfare of the world; by devotion to selfless one attains the supreme goal of life. Do your work with the welfare of others always in mind.” Such free concerts would be a step in the right direction in their divine journeys, Zed added.
