You expect 'freaky' music from Freaky Ali, considering its whacky theme and exciting humor (promised through the promo). With Sajid-Wajid at the helm of affairs, you look forward to some fun times in the soundtrack of this Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer which has Sohail Khan at the helm of affairs. Surprisingly though, there are just three tracks in the album, a couple of which are written by Shabbir Ahmed and the third having Danish Sabri in charge for the lyrics.

MUSIC

It is the sound of trumpet that welcomes audience, hence lending 'Din Mein Karengey Jagrata' an upbeat start. Soon enough, Divya Kumar joins the proceedings as the voice of Nawazuddin Siddiqui. A celebration number which comes dangerously close to 'Nagin Nagin' [Bajatey Raho] when it comes to the hook-line, 'Din Mein Karengey Jagrata' has Wajid joining the singers behind the mike. A foot tapping number, it actually turns out to be the best part of the album.

Wajid features as a singer in the other two tracks as well. 'Parinda Hai Parinda' is a situational number which has a slow pace to it and has a vintage quotient to it. A semi-classical track that is centered on a conversation with the almighty, 'Parinda Hai Parinda' should be a montage sequence in the film. The audience for the song is restricted though as one doesn't expect the song to cover much distance.

Danish Sabri is the lyricist and singer for the 'qawalli' track 'Ya Ali Murtaza'. He kick-starts the song in a forceful manner while establishing how God resides in every human being. This is another song which is designed for a sequence where characters go through some dramatic moments in their life even as the music plays in the background. A little while later, Payal Dev joins Wajid behind the mike.

OVERALL

Music of Freaky Ali isn't on expected lines. Though the opening number ('Din Mein Karengey Jagrata') gives an impression of a fun-filled album ahead, the short duration of the soundtrack (12 and a half minutes) restricts the celebrations to continue beyond that.
