Peter Frampton starts touring again

Peter Frampton, the legendary guitarist and songwriter, has announced his “Never Say Never” tour, which will take place from June to August 2023. The Grammy-winning musician had embarked on a farewell tour, called the “Peter Frampton Finale” tour, in 2019, which was expected to be his last tour because of his diagnosis with the degenerative muscle disease Inclusion-Body Myositus (IBM). But now, the 2014 inductee into the Musicians Hall of Fame is back with a new tour, which he has named “Never Say Never,” a nod to the hope he holds for the future.

Frampton, who has enjoyed a successful career spanning five decades, has been overwhelmed by the positive response to his music and the support he has received from his fans. “At the end of every Finale Tour show I did say, ‘Never Say Never’ and I am always full of hope for the impossible. I’m very pleased to let you know that I am feeling strong and my fingers are still roaming the fretboard. Every note I play now has more meaning and soul. I love playing live, and this fighter wants to stay in the ring for as long as he can. I’m so happy to be able to see you all one more time this summer. Much love, Peter,” he said.

The “Never Say Never” tour will start on June 21st at the Rose Music Center at The Heights in Huber Heights, Ohio, and will conclude on August 19th at the Sandy Amphitheater in Sandy, Utah. The tour will take Frampton to cities such as Cincinnati, Raleigh, St. Augustine, Orlando, Boston, and Las Vegas. Tickets for the tour will be available from Friday (14) at peterframpton.com. The official card of the Peter Frampton: Never Say Never Tour is Citi, whose members will have access to presale tickets in select markets beginning tomorrow (Wednesday) at 10 am local time until April 13 at 10 pm local time, via the Citi Entertainment program. More information is available at citientertainment.com.

Frampton’s last tour included a sellout show in his hometown, at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Simon Reed, who reviewed the show for Louder Than War, wrote: “Frampton plays a thirteen-song setlist, plus the three encores. On paper, that might have seemed a little light, but with his easy conversation and these truly spectacular extended instrumental sections in some of the tunes, it comes in at just under two and a half hours of inspirational music. They finish with ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps.’ It’s a fitting end to our time with one of the UK’s most iconic players.”

The tour announcement has left Frampton’s fans overjoyed, and they have taken to social media to express their excitement. One fan tweeted: “Can’t wait! I’m getting my tickets as soon as they go on sale. Peter Frampton is a rock legend.” Another wrote: “I thought I had seen the last of Peter Frampton on tour. I’m so glad he is back. He’s an inspiration to us all.”

Frampton’s career has been a remarkable one. He began playing guitar at a young age and joined his first band, The Herd, when he was just 16. He later joined the group Humble Pie, and in the early 1970s, he launched his solo career. His 1976 album, “Frampton Comes Alive!,” was a huge commercial success and remains one of the top-selling live albums of all time. It featured hits such as “Baby, I Love Your Way” and “Show Me the Way.”
