The county local council representative, John Gajang has said that security situation in the county is calm although there are small issues of cattle raiders from neighbouring counties.

“There are small issues like cattle raiders which still exist in the county and generally there is no more insecurity now in these days because our neighbouring counties are cooperating well with us,” he said.

He adds that his community achieved peace and the people are living in harmony.

“As we are talking now there is business going on in the county between Malakal and Cannal because there is road transport and river transport and people are leaving in peace and harmony,” said Gajang.

He said that the commissioner fully implemented the peace agreement signed in 2009 in Malakal by President Salva Kiir Mayardit and the Jonglei State Governor Kuol Manyang Juuk.

Gajang said that the implementation of the peace agreement which was signed in 2009 has been achieved and there is free movement of two communities which have been in conflict for so long.

He said that the roads in the county are accessible during the dry season but the people use river transport because of the flooding in the area during rainy season.
