The high security visit to the University came a day after a number of students from University on Wednesday gathered in front of UN compound in Wau seeking refuge.

Yesterday evening, a group of students from the University left campus and gathered in front of UN compound in what they described fear of violence at the University although there was no sign of conflict in the campus.

“We have today come to you and to tell you more on the current nation situation that the violence you are hearing in Juba and Bor has no any impact on you,” Hassan told more than 2,000 University students who gathered in the campus.

He urged the students to feel free and continue with studies.

“I need you the University of Bahr el Ghazal students to unite and condemn the current political situation which involved the military action in the country,”Hassan said in his speech to the students.

The Governor emphasized that students have nothing to do with tribalism as the nation needs engineers, professors and doctors, and students should avoid tribal issues.

Philip Santino Akech from the University said they will not be divided by any internal problem in the country since they are under government protection in Wau.

“We are only her to learn, we have nothing to do with violence if there is any political development in the country,” he said.
