The governor, who addressed farmers at Nzara farmer’s association’s farm, told the farmers he was very impressed with their efforts and that he is ready to offer protection and good security so that they can expand to larger scale.

“I will try my best to make sure the security of the state is stable so that it gives you chances to excel in farming.  I don’t have money to give you but I will ensure the security is fine so you can eat and sleep comfortably,” the governor stated.

Col Bangasi further said that, as a state government, they are going to inform the national government about the kind of initiatives taken by the farmers in the state, adding that there is nothing the state requires from Central Government but only roads, which he said to transport the agriculture products to markets in the other states.

“I have seen it for myself and I believe it and it is happening. I would like to encourage the entire citizens to cultivate in groups,” he urged.

The governor expressed his happiness and revealing he never knew that there are people in the state who can cultivate up to 45 to 500 hectors, adding that it is a sign they have been listening to the campaign messages he has been telling them on public occasions and on radios.

He advised they should not stick to the association farming alone; but should also have their own gardens to support their families, apart from the commercial agriculture.
Governor Bakosoro warned the farmers, saying they shouldn’t allow wrong advisors to come and discourage them from what they are already doing, so that the association can go down and lose its meaning.

He urged all the people of Nzara country to continue to cultivate as widely as  they can, so that in the end they become the largest supplier of food in the republic of South Sudan

Finally, he warned the group from excessive drinking of alcohol, using the money they earn from selling the agriculture produce. “It has come to my notice that many people in the state are dying due to excessive drinking of local alcohol made from the sugar particles”. He urged the general public to have specific time for drinking, not all the time.
