One of the factories at Riverside Road in Woodland Industrial Estate caught fire on Thursday morning.

As reported by Singapore Civil Defence Force, the fire broke out around noon time and was under control in a short while after SCDF arrived on the scene. Speaking to the local media, the team informed that the first news of the fire was filed at 12:01 followed by another one at 12:15. SCDF had the fire under control by 1pm. They used two light fire attack vehicles, five support vehicles, two fire engines, and an ambulance for emergency purposes. Seven water jets were also instantly dispatched.

The incident was under control in a short span of time leading to no casualties. All workers of the factory had already evacuated the building before the SCDF team arrived.

The head of the SCDF team further reported that the starting point of the fire was at the fourth floor of the factory at the 28 Riverside Road and the fire was smaller to the standard size of a football field. The fire had completely died out by 1:40 pm.

The trigger point of the fire has yet not been discovered. Authorities are conducting the research and figuring out the reason of fire. However, reporters at the venue have reported that the fire smelled like plastic and definitely involved paint and thinner to certain extend.
