The former chief of CNB and the chief of SCDF, both were declared not guilty of influencing the investigations, says Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean.

The DMP gave the verdict to the case on both the chiefs highlighting that none of the officers were involved in manipulating Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB). Both the officers were sent on leave right after their arrest. He addressed the parliament Tuesday morning clarifying that both the chiefs have not been removed from their titles, however, they were sent on leave the moment they were arrested. Therefore, they were unable to join their office or resume duties.

Teo Chee Hean responded to the rising rumors about the officers influencing the investigations since they were not suspended. He gave all those raising fingers on the creditability of Peter Lim Chief of SCDF and Ng Boon Gay, the chief of CNB a serious shut up call.

He said that there was no delay in arresting the two and removing them from the offices. The information was instantly provided to the concerned authorities. However, releasing information about the anticipated steps of the government could lead to altering the concerned. Therefore, no such premature announcement was made which could put the investigation at risk.
