A petition has been filed to the Supreme Court of Pakistan by respective lawyers to put the former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lt. Gen. Ahmad Shuja Pasha in the Exit Control List (ECL) regarding the missing persons case on Tuesday.

The petition was filed by the head of the council of the missing persons case, Advocate Tariq Asad. He requested the Supreme Court to take action on the petition as the earliest to avoid any inconvenience at a later stage since the outgoing chief of ISI is of utmost importance to the case of missing persons during his regime. The petition stated that the former ISI chief is solely responsible for countless missing Pakistani individuals without any legal action taken against them and he needs to give explanation for his deeds and give whereabouts of all the missing individuals.

It also indicated that General Ahmad Shuja Pasha has played role in the missing people from the premises of Adyala Jail and therefore cannot be given a green light to travel anywhere he wants, to which the chances are that he might not return to the country.

The petition specifically mentioned that General Pasha has plans for flying the country possibly on 18th of March, 2012 and raised the fear that he might not come back to Pakistan soon enough, creating problems in clarifying the facts and figures involved in the case that is currently being studied by the SC.
