President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari along with his coalition partners decided that the issue of opening NATO supplies should be taken into the Parliament and the decision must be taken with the approval all parliament members. The decision of doing so was taken in a meeting held at the Awan-e-Sadar on Wednesday evening.

Zardari and his cabinet members also briefed the attendees of the meeting about the financial and security conditions of the country at the moment.

Pakistan closed NATO supplies following the incidents of American drones attacking Pakistani army officers near the border space in November last year. Pakistan has previously only threatened to stop NATO supplies if the attacks on Pakistani individuals did not stop following a ban of ten days to ensure the safety of the citizens of Pakistan. However, violating the agreement, once again American drones attacked Pakistani armed forces men at the border in November after which the government banned all sorts of supplies to NATO.

Over various negotiation sessions, the military and civil leaders of Pakistan have come down to the conclusion of withdrawing from the ban but on strict conditions of heavy transportation fees and transit fares for NATO trucks and other carriers. However, the President told the officials yesterday that the matter should be taken to the parliament and the final decision will be theirs.
