Chinese General warned India on Thursday against causing uncalled for trouble at the borders. The tension on China-India border has been increasing for months. Although both countries claim to be moving towards a permanent solution but the military movements prove otherwise.

The candid statement of a Chinese General surfaced the media only a few hours before the defence minister AK Antony landed in Beijing. Leading a high-level delegation, Antony is in China on a four-day official visit aimed at increasing defence co-operation between the two countries.

“The Indian side should not provoke new problems and increase the military deployment at the border areas and start new trouble,” said Major General Luo Yuan, deputy-director general of the world military research department at a PLA academy.

He added: “India is the only country in the world that says that it is developing its military power because of China’s military threat… So I believe that India should be very cautious in what it does and what it says.”

Ironically, Antony and his delegation are visiting China on the days when Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is already in the country meeting Chinese companies from the energy sector.

“There is still problem of 90,000 sq km of territory still occupied by the Indian side. These are the problems left over from history and we should look at it with cool head,” General Luo said.
