The Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, held a meeting at the Chief Ministers House and announced that the law and order is above all. The operation in Karachi is to continue without pressure. Shah said this in a high level meeting to review law and order situation today. Karachi police chief, DG Rangers, Additional Chief Secretary home and other official were all present in the meeting.

In the meeting, the police and rangers collectively decided to form a committee, comprising prosecutor and advocate general, for the speedy completion of investigations. The Chief Minister also said that a consensus was to be developed before initiating targeted operations in Karachi, adding that there was no question of targeting anybody in a democratic rule. He explained that the Sindh Assembly would also be clearly briefed about the developments in the targeted operation.

The Sindh Chief Minister this Wednesday also distributed compensation cheques of Rs 0.5 million each to the heirs of 3 martyred and Rs 0.2 million each to the two injured polio workers at the Chief Minister House. Three workers of polio team were killed and 2 workers were injured in Qayomabad area of the city some days ago during anti- polio campaign. The targeted operation was blamed at the Talibans against polio teams. The Chief Minister had announced for the compensation to the injured and heirs of martyred workers and decided to fulfill the promise made.
