“It is with deep, deep sadness we to inform you that 40 workers of the Tariq Noor Al Huda construction company have been abducted,” Syed Akbaruddin informed in a press conference. He also added that most of the kidnaped Indians belong to the Northern areas of India. “Punjab belt, etc”. “You can never be certain about exact information,” he said while informing that the government was unaware about their condition or location. “We will not spare any efforts to help the Indians in Iraq… International Red Crescent has confirmed that they have been kidnapped, but is unaware of their location. (There is) no answer on how they were kidnapped,” Akbaruddin said. “India is sending back its former envoy… to strengthen the embassies in Iraq,” he added.
ISIS fighters aim to establish a Muslim caliphate across the Iraqi-Syrian frontier and have launched their revolt by seizing Mosul. The militants are gaining power and have swept through the Tigris valley towards Baghdad. Scores were killed this Tuesday in a battle for a provincial capital close to Baghdad and this fighting lead to the shutdown of Iraq’s biggest refinery at Baiji.
