The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of an arrest in a Sexual Exploitation investigation.

It is alleged that:

– between August 2015 and September 2016, a 14-year-old girl attended a sports program

– during that time, she was exploited by the basketball coach

– when she stopped attending, in September 2016, so did the exploitation

On Friday, December 9, 2016, members of the Child and Youth Advocacy Centre arrested Christopher Melville, 30, of Toronto. He was charged with:

1) Sexual Exploitation
2) Sexual Interference
3) Invitation to Sexual Touching
4) Telecommunication with a Person Under or Believed Under 18 years for specific criminal offences (Sexual Exploitation)

He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Thursday, January 19, 2017, room J.

Christopher Melville, 30, had access to other children in the community.

He is employed by the City of Toronto, Parks and Recreation, as a Youth Program Leader at Dennis R. Timbrell Recreation Centre, 29 St. Dennis Drive.

A sexual assault is any form of unwanted sexual contact. It includes, but is not limited to, kissing, grabbing, oral sex and penetration.
