David CameronU.K. Prime Minister, David Cameron requires his fellow G8 leaders to get prepared to take some bold action in order to boost global economic growth, ahead of G8 annual summit to be held at County Fermanagh’s Lough Erne golf resort, Northern Ireland in June.

The U.K. has just taken over the year-long presidency of the group, which consists of, historically, the richest countries in the world.

For the first time, U.K. will be hosting the annual summit since Gleneagles in Scotland in 2005. The summit will see U.S. President Barack Obama, Russian President Vladimir Putin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and other world leaders getting united for two days.

Mr. Cameron in a letter marking the start of the U.K.’s presidency of the group has warned not to allow a summit where rich nations “simply whip out a chequebook at the 11th hour, pledge some money and call it a success”.

Prime Minister has also indicated of looking for concrete moves in three key areas – including the potential for signing up to an anti-corruption measure for extraction industries to encourage poorer countries to follow suit.

He has also suggested an output towards new measures to tackle global tax avoidance.

Mr. Cameron has stated: “It is clear that in 2013 the world will continue to face grave economic uncertainty.”

The ambitious standards we set and the bold steps we take can make a tangible difference.”
