Scotland police has confirmed the news about the death of a16-year-old boy after he was allegedly stabbed at a school in Aberdeen. According to the police, an incident was reported at the Cults Academy at 1.30pm on Wednesday and after the police arrived, a wounded male was shifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he later died from his injuries. Moreover, police detained another 16-year-old pupil who is still in police custody and helping officers with their inquiries.
The authorities have confirmed that the next of kin of the 16-year-old boy have been informed and that the incident is being treated as a murder investigation. In a statement issued by Ch. Insp Graeme Mackie, he mentioned that “this is a shocking and extraordinary incident for Aberdeen and firstly our thoughts are with the family and friends of the boy who has sadly lost his life today.” It was added that “a full and thorough inquiry has been launched and there will be a police presence in the area for the foreseeable future. We are working closely with the education authorities and wider community as I am sure this incident will be felt not only in Aberdeen but much further afield.”
The alleged crime scene, i.e. a school building in Aberdeen, has been cordoned off as several police officers remain on site. Statistically, Cults Academy is one of the largest state school in the city accredited for the best performing awards for its exam results.
