Environment Canada is showing some hot temperatures coupled with a severe thunderstorm warning for Toronto and surrounding areas. A severe thunderstorm watch was initially issued, but it has since been upgraded to a warning in Toronto, Halton Hills – Milton, Mississauga – Brampton, Caledon, Vaughan – Richmond hill – Markham, Newmarket – Georgina – Northern York Region, Pickering – Oshawa – Southern Durham Region, Uxbridge – Beaverton – Northern Durham Region, Guelph – Erin – Southern Wellington County, Innisfil – New Tecumseth – Angus.
 
The latest warnings for Southern Ontario are displayed on a map. Watch out in Toronto, York Region, Belleville and Peterborough.

Severe thunderstorm warning for City of Toronto continued
 
For the above regions until 8.30 PM. Severe thunderstorms are imminent or occurring in the area. These storms may produce hail up to 4 cm, wind gusts to 120 km/h and torrential downpours up to 50 mm in half an hour.
 
Remember that some severe thunderstorms can also produce tornadoes.
 
Monitor weather conditions and take immediate safety precautions if threatening weather approaches.
 
At 7.40 PM radar shows a line of thunderstorms from the City of Toronto to Northern Peterborough region moving east southeastward at about 70 km/h. Areas ahead of this area of thunderstorms is very unstable. Severe thunderstorms could develop with hail up to golf ball size, wind gusts to 120 km/h and torrential downpours up to 50 mm in half an hour.
