Investigators from the 11 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau are attempting to identify a number of possible victims, in relation to a Brampton couple’s arrest on June 2, 2011.

Peel Police Officers, with the assistance of Canada Post investigators, looked into the theft of several pieces of mail from the postal outlet located at Campobello Road in Mississauga.

As a result of the investigation, two Canada Post employees, Sandra COLLINS, a 42 year-old female from Brampton and James KOYANAGI, a 34 year-old from Brampton, were arrested and charged on Thursday, June 2, 2011.

Both suspects face several theft-related charges, including Theft from Mail and Public Servant Refusing to Deliver Property.

It is believed that the items being stolen from the mail included cash, gift cards, electronics and anything deemed to be of value. It is further alleged that the two suspects would target packages that obviously contained the items listed previously.

  1. Another stain on the once trusted and respected Security & Investigations (S&I) department in not knowing for two years that mail was being stolen underneath their noses. As a retired Postal Inspector and co-creator of the Loss Data Management system, that if used would’ve comment_content_IDentified these losses two years ago and further would’ve known most of the victims by now. Rather S&I are asking Peel to canvass the public for them. Why have an S&I if this is how they operate now. Save money and outsource this department as well!
