The RCMP has confirmed the identities of three men killed in a three-vehicle collision on Route 113 in Inkerman Ferry, N.B. on Friday, June 17, 2011.

Two of the men have been identified as 45-year-old David Basque, of Petit-Shippagan, N.B., and 53-year-old Fernand Landry, of Petit-Paquetville, N.B. The third victim is a 50-year-old man who resides in British Columbia. His name has not been released, pending notification of his family, who live outside of Canada.

A female passenger in the car was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Two pickup trucks and a car were involved in the collision. The crash happened when one of the pickup trucks crossed the centre line and collided head on with the other truck, which was pulling a flatbed trailer carrying bee hives.

The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
