The body of 34-year-old Darryl Deagle, of Notre-Dame, was discovered in a field around 3:30 p.m. An autopsy has revealed he died of injuries consistent with a fall from a great height.

While foul play is not suspected, the police are continuing their investigation to determine exactly what happened.

Background:

District 5 Kent RCMP are investigating the death of a man who died while skydiving.

On August 13, 2011 at approximately 3:30 p.m., the RCMP from Bouctouche responded to a field just off Highway 115 in Notre-Dame where they discovered the body of a man.

The preliminary investigation has determined the 34-year-old man from Notre-Dame was skydiving with a group of people. It is unknown at this time if a problem with his parachute lead to his death.

The investigation is ongoing and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. The name of the man is not being released at this time so that his family can be properly notified.
