obamaAfter his Tax Revenue Reforms, President Barack Obama is now all set to propose new reforms to the No Child Left Behind education law. Kentucky’s education chief and U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan will also be sharing the stage with the President for the reforms that are to be made to this education policy.

This law is known to be the most popular initiative of President George W. Bush, however now it had become highly unpopular.

Obama’s amendments to the No Child Left behind Policy are expected to allow a few exemptions to some of the law’s requirements under certain conditions. He is planning on giving states the flexibility to opt out of central provisions of the federal law. Qualifying states would then have to show an outline as to how they will be helping the low performing schools. This waiver was originally requested by Gov. Steve Beshear who sent a letter to Obama in June requesting a waiver from some requirements.

While appreciating the essence of the law, Obama has stated that the implementation of the law was greatly flawed.
