Company sued over termination of Obese employee

Employment-Policy1-320x200An American employee named Ronald Kratz II was sacked by his employer for being overweight. Kratz II was working with BAE Systems weighed 680 pound but he claimed that his obesity never hampered his work and he also that that he performed admirably during his 16 year career.

He was sacked two years ago when he was told by his employer that he was too overweight to carry on with materials handling job.

During his interview on Wednesday, he told that he was called in the Human Resource office and ruthlessly sacked and told that the higher ups of the company think he is too overweight to carry on.

He revealed that he told the Human Resource office to demote him, so that he can keep his job but they declined his offer. He said that he recived excellent appraisal on the last two job evaluations.

Kratz said” It was a total surprise, I wanted to cry,”

Ronald Kratz was drawing $21 per hour and was looking after his wife and three teenage children. After getting over the initial shock he filed a case with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, who investigated his claims and then on Tuesday filed a law suit against BAE Systems.

BAE Systems have responded by saying that they “will respond at the appropriate time and manner.”
