Brian Safari MbarukVancouver Police are asking for the public’s assistance to help locate a missing 20 year old Vancouver man.

Brian Safari Mbaruk last spoke to family at about 12 p.m. on Friday, November 18th and hasn’t been heard from since. It’s unknown where Brian might be, but the lack of contact with family over the past few days is out of character for him.

Brian enjoys hiking and it’s believed that he may have gone to the Baden Powell Trail, as he enjoys hiking the area around Lynn Creek and Deep Cove. Police, parks, and search and rescue staff on the North Shore have been advised and will be assisting in search efforts but it is unknown where Brian could be.

Brian is black, 21 years old, 6’3” tall, and 170 lbs. He has brown eyes, short curly black hair, and a brown beard. He may be wearing a grey baseball-style cap with the word “Obey” on it, a gold/mustard coloured hoodie, a dark navy blue jacket, dark brown work boots, and he may have a large blue hiking-style backpack with him.

Update: Vancouver Police and North Shore Search and Rescue teams are hoping for a break in the weather so the search for missing 20 year old Brian Safari Mbaruk can continue. It is now believed that the young man got off a transit bus in the Grouse Mountain parking lot sometime over the past weekend. He has not been seen since.
