Police was seen entering into Châteauneuf Hotel in Laval Wednesday morning. Allegedly, cops went to the hotel to find more evidence on the suicide case of an alleged Montreal police mole.
The Laval police have denied offering any information about the reason for their presence at the hotel, located on des Laurentides Blvd. north of Highway 440.
According to a few, the alleged mole was a former Montreal police Sgt. named Ian Davidson. However, Laval police Constable Franco Di Genova hesitated to affirm whether police were looking into a person’s death. He did not explain the presence of quite a few police patrol cars and several detectives at the hotel about 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
Di Genova said: “We’re here, that’s all I can say right now.”
Reportedly, Montreal police took the retired officer into custody about three months ago, after he supposedly offered the Mafia a highly classified list of names. He has not yet been charged.
On Tuesday, Montreal police Chief Marc Parent said: “I would like to reassure the population that we will do everything in our power in order to shed light on this matter. You have to understand that in this case a person acting in bad faith, dishonest, who decided to share information. We’re never safe from a situation like that. We have to put in place systems that allow us to detect them and to also rigorously manage these teams.”

One more reason why having a national database of the make, model and serial number of every firearm owned by the law-abcomment_IDing, coupled to a database of the names and addresses of those citizens, is a serious public safety concern.
If corrupt police can sell “secure” lists of informants to criminals, they can just as easily sell shopping lists for firearms.
Contact your MP and demand that they support C-391 to eliminate the long gun registry, and that they move on eliminating the registry of restricted firearms.
If it saves one life, it’s worth it.
