Elections Canada has launched an investigation to expose the real story behind the robocalls scandal. With intensifying tensions, PM Stephen Harper has clearly stated that his party had nothing to do with Thunder Bay call centre.

The EC investigation aims at interrogating the staffers of a call centre based in Thunder Bay, Ont., controlled by Responsive Marketing Group – a company hired by the Conservatives to contact and impel voters.

According to one of the former employees of the RMG call centre, a few workers lacked proper training which might be one of the reasons voters were given phony information. However, another employee expressed discomfort with how her colleagues were instructed to manipulate voters on behalf of the Conservative Party.

She said that a few employees contacted RCMP regarding the matter, but "they said they didn’t want to listen, it wasn’t their area, and it was now all over and done with."

Elections Canada spokesman John Enright said Wednesday that if it is proven that the act was violated, they will take steps.

"The commissioner does take his mandate role very seriously," he said.

The agency will soon release its report after thoroughly investigating the pre-recorded calls, faking to be from Elections Canada that provided wrong information to voters in Ontario.
