Chair of Toronto Transit Commission, Karen Stintz, claims to be “not inclined” towards supporting Rob Ford to go back at the seat of Toronto’s mayor again, in case he is expelled by courts.

The conservative councilor made a statement on  Tuesday, claiming that in case Ford loses his court appeal and announces to participate in byelection, she might just change her mind only if he “makes a really good case” in reasoning that why shall he remain the mayor and what are his  future plans with Toronto. Stintz elaborated that “I wouldn’t support reappointing Mayor Ford until he can come forward with a plan of why he wants to continue to be mayor, what he hopes to achieve in the next two years.” She alleged that such declaration will be “good for the mayor and good for the public.” She further added that “If he put forward a really good effort and made a really good case about why he should be reappointed, again, you’d have to consider that.”

Stintz is often perceived as a possible mayoral candidate in the future. Though when she was directly inquired if she intends to compete with Ford, in case Ford is expelled from office and council decides to hold a byelection instead of appointment, she replied that she “can’t say” until his legal troubles are resolved. She has once stated at a different occasion that she will never run against Ford. Stintz spoke with media sometime after the appeal hearing of Ford ended.
