It has been decided that incoming premier of Ontario, Kathleen Wynne, will be sworn in to her new office as the 25th premier of Ontario on Feb. 11. The official declaration of the determined date was made public after a meeting of the incoming premiere, Kathleen Wynne, and the outgoing premier, Dalton McGuinty, with Lt.-Gov., David Onley, held this morning for discussing the process of formally transferring power since Wynne has won the Liberal leadership elections on Saturday.

Onley made an official statement, mentioning that “I have asked Ms. Wynne to form a government and she has accepted my invitation. So I wish to congratulate the premier-designate and I look forward to the swearing-in ceremony.” It is disclosed that Wynne’s new cabinet will be formed and officially sworn on the same day, although she denies to elaborate on how many ministers does to intends to keep. Wynne alleged “you know what, stay tuned. We’re just in the process of putting that together,” while adding that “what you’ll see is a strong cabinet, a strong government because…I know the times call for a firm hand and that is exactly what we’re going to provide.”

Wynne has remained secretive about her plan to add or drop any Liberal from front benches as the minority government plans to face the opposition in the legislature for the first time in four months. It will resume on Feb. 19 after being prorogued by McGuinty, when he clarified his intention to stay continue his position as the representative for Ottawa-South until the next election.
