Hamilton man charged with kidnapping and robbery

On June 8th, 2010, at approximately 2:30 a.m., in the west end of Hamilton, two male victims were randomly approached by two male suspects who took them at gun point and placed them into a vehicle. They were driven to two separate banks where they were forced to remove money from their respective ATM machines. Both victims were released unharmed and immediately notified the police.

On June 10th, 2010, at approximately 2:30 a.m., a lone male suspect accosted a male victim in the lobby of a Hamilton mountain bank. The victim was forced at gun point to remove a quantity of money from his bank account. The suspect then stole the victim’s cell phone and shoes and fled the scene.

The suspect was identified through video surveillance obtained at both robberies.

Hamilton Police responded to another robbery on June 12th, 2010, and from that investigation they recovered the gun used in the ATM robberies. Members of the Hamilton Police Service ACTION Team located and arrested the wanted male.
