The suspect recently arrested at the centre of the Maple Leaf Garden sex abuse scandal, associated with allegations of sexual assaults dating back 30 years, has now been granted bail. Gordon Stuckless was recently arrested on Wednesday morning by York Region police in light of 11 new charges. Stuckless will now be facing five charges of sexual assault, four charges of gross indecency and two charges of indecent assault on a male.

Later in the afternoon of the same day, Stuckless was granted bail, set at $1,00, and released to the custody of his brother. Stuckless was compelled in the bail, that he must not attend parks, daycares, swimming pools, community centres and schools where kids under the age of 16 are known to be. It was shared by Det. Joanne Waite that the alleged attacks took place between 1982 and 1985 when Stuckless worked as a teacher’s assistant in Richmond Hill. Furthermore, Police revealed that at the time of the alleged attacks throughout York region, he was also volunteering as a lacrosse and hockey coach. The two alleged victims were 11 and 13 years old at the time, according to police.

64-years-old Stuckless was presented in a Newmarket, Ont. court on Wednesday afternoon. The former Maple Leaf Gardens usher has been facing fresh sex assault charges, second time in less than a week. Toronto police previously took Stuckless in custody on Friday. He was charged with 15 new charges stemming from allegations by five men who claimed they were abused as boys in the 1960s and ‘70s.
