Confusion still prevails at Mayor Rob Ford’s office as more staff members fall victim of the ongoing series of resignation, which has heightened the number of staffers who quit or were fired in a week to five. Recently, Ford’s advisor on council relations, Brian Johnston, was seen being escorted down a second-floor stairwell and out of city hall by security. Prior to this, Ford’s executive assistant, Kia Nejatian, quit early on Thursday morning.

Consequently, the numbers of staff who has already walked out of the building in a week has reached up to five. Taking notice of the ongoing controversy that has largely affected the day-to-day proceedings of the Mayor’s office, Premier Kathleen Wynne alleged that she’s “worried” about the situation and has not ruled out the unprecedented move of stepping in to bring stability to Canada’s biggest city. Wynne alerted that “the mayor needs to deal with his personal issues," or otherwise she will have no other option but to “take action if and when it's appropriate . . . There are actions that we can take and actions that we cannot.”

Soon after Johnston left city hall, he hadn’t reached the underground parking lot when he was ambushed by reporters. He stated that “I chose to leave on my own terms . . . The timing was right for me.” Upon inquiry if Ford could recover from the scandal, Johnston alleged that “he’s recovered from a lot of things already.” Again asked if Ford can survive this, Johnston replied “anything is possible.”
