Police has confirmed that the alleged victims of an early morning shooting that took place outside a banquet hall at a stag party north of Toronto were a hitman involved in multiple murders in the GTA and a member of his crew.

Police claims to have verified that the victims shot death during a gunfight at around 1 a.m. on Friday were 41-year-old Salvatore Calautti and 35-year-old James Tusek. The incident took place outside a bachelor party at Terrace Banquet Hall in Vaughan, Ont., where more than 500 people were present. York Regional police Cont., Blair McQuillan, explained that “at the time there was a bachelor party taking place,” adding that the “investigators believe there were between 100 and 500 people on scene, closer to the 100 mark at the time this incident took place.” McQuilland further added that investigators are convinced that it was a targeted event, alleging that “at this point it doesn’t appear to be a random event.”

Police claims that Calautti, a person allegedly involved in several murders as old as 1991, was found in the driver’s seat of a black BMW with a bullet wound to his head. Meanwhile, his long-time crew member, Tusek, was taken in custody from near the vehicle after which he was shifted to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead soon after. Reports have previously asserted that Calautti was a father of three, a heavy gambler and an alleged hitman suspected of several murders in the GTA.
