In an official statement issued by Environment Canada on Friday, it has warned the residents of Ontario of growing possibility of scattered thunderstorms that may come along with violent weather to parts of Ontario on Friday while the heat wave prepares to waive off with another scorcher. The federal agency issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the GTA.
Additionally, Environment Canada added in the weather statement that there are more chances of scattered thunderstorms in northeastern and southern Ontario in the late afternoon and evening, along with a slight risk of some of the storms bringing damaging winds, hail and heavy rain too. However, the national agency alleged that there are very small chances of an isolated tornado. The scorching heat wave that has currently engulfed Ontario is anticipated to cool of over the course of next few days when cool air moves in from the north.
Until Friday, an extreme heat alert and humidex advisory still remains in effect. Consequently, Toronto is forecasted to have a scorching temperature of 35 C on Friday, though it will feel like 44 due to humidity. Chances were highlighted for the thunderstorms to continue until Saturday morning, in lieu of transforming the weather to or just below seasonal. Keeping that in mind, the temperature on Saturday is expected to cool down to 27 C, and Sunday even lower to 23 C. First official heat wave of this year in Toronto was declared on Thursday, when the agency observed temperature surpassing 32 C for the third consecutive day.
