Consequently, the news briefing explains that the man was quickly shifting to the trauma centre of to St. Michael’s hospital with life-threatening injuries as he suffered from multiple gunshot wounds in his upper torso and no vital signs. It was confirmed by Toronto Emergency Medical Services that the suspect died at the hospital after suffering a gunshot wound. Meanwhile, it was revealed by a TTC spokesperson that there were no other passengers on board at the time of the incident. However, 25-year-old Owen Melville was present in Trinity Bellwoods with his friends at the time of incident, and swears to have heard gunshots. He stated that “we heard these popping noises and we were like ‘Whoah those were gunshots.'” A nearby resident, i.e. 29-year-old named Janna Kale, expressed deep regret after seeing the police tape, as she alleged that “I love this neighbourhood” and “this scares the crap out of me.
