 An Uxbridge-area Personal Support Worker is facing charges after a police investigation found she has been stealing narcotic patches from elderly patients at her place of work.

A concerned employee of a long-term care facility in Uxbridge contacted police on July 12, 2010 because narcotic pain-relief patches were going missing from elderly patients.

Investigation found a 33-year-old female Personal Support Worker had unlawfully removed a “Fentanyl” narcotic patch from an elderly patient during the course of her duties. A search of the female found she was in possession of two additional patches which she had also stolen.

Tanya-Anne SARASIN, age 33, of Brock, Ontario is charged with: Theft Under $5,000 x2 and Possession of a Schedule I Substance x2. SARASIN was released on an Undertaking with conditions.
