The TTC bus accident with a truck on Tuesday cost a family their wife, mother and grandmother, who was entering the bus on her way to work at the time a truck slammed into it. Authorities revealed that 52-year-old Manoranjana Kanagasabapathy was from Scarborough, about whom her family says she was positive, religious and the one who always brought relatives together for large gatherings and events.

Officials revealed new details into the incident of fatal TTC crash in the city’s north end on Wednesday, explaining how police believes the crash took place amid their appeal for witnesses to the incident. According to Police speculations, the incident took place at around 11:30 a.m., when a westbound TTC bus driven by a 36-year-old male employee stopped just east of Middlefield Rd. A 52-year-old woman attempted to board the bus while another 43-year-old woman was exiting it at the time when an eastbound 2010 Hino commercial truck crossed into the westbound lanes, jumped the curb and struck the bus from front right corner.

Police speculation claims that the impact resulted in the immediate death of Kanagasabapathy, who was pronounced dead at the scene, while sending the other woman to hospital with life-threatening injuries. EMS confirmed that a total of 13 patients were treated and transported to four hospitals after the incident, including Kanagasabapathy.
