Sen. Patrick Brazeau’s office has categorically refuted all media reports claiming that he was arrested at his Gatineau home, though it was clarified that police and paramedics did visit the house twice earlier on Tuesday morning.

According to details, paramedics and police first responded to his home at around 2 a.m. because of a 911 call placed by someone who said that a man was feeling ill. Later upon arrival of police and paramedics, the patient refused treatment. Later paramedics and police responded again, after almost two hours, in response to another called 911 at around 4 a.m. The call alerted authorities about a depressed man, who was later transported by the paramedics to hospital. It remains a mystery as to how long the patient stayed in the hospital, though it was confirmed by Tuesday night that the patient was no longer at the hospital. Police elucidated that “there are no charges in connection with this action.”

In a press release issued by Gatineau Police on Tuesday evening, it was explained that it had received a call for an “intervention,” without naming Brazeau. It was alleged that all that is known is that police and paramedics responded twice to the same address listed in court records as being Brazeau’s residence. Meanwhile, Police further clarified that Brazeau has not yet been charged with any crime regarding any events early on Tuesday morning. Sen. Brazeau’s assistant, Debby Simms, communicated to Huffington Post on Tuesday that all media reports regarding his arrest are completely “false.”
