High-risk sex offender, Michael Sean Stanley, who recently escaped Canadian authorities and fled to the United States, has now been placed in a jail in Seattle for harassment and sexual assault charges in connection to a 16-year-old boy. Seattle police reported being alerted about a man yelling in an alley in west Seattle and threatening at least one person on early Tuesday morning, when upon their arrival they found a combative Stanley with a knife.

According to Police sources, Stanley appeared to be intoxicated at the time, and while a small knife was confiscated from him, he was charged with harassment. However, soon after his arrest, police found out that he chatted up a 16-year-old male at a grocery store before going with the teen to a back alley to drink. Police explained that “Stanley plied the teen with alcohol, grabbed the teen, and sexually assaulted him.” Consequently, the teenager pulled a knife on Stanley, which helped him escape to another location and safely call police. Hence, Police has confirmed that Stanley will soon have sexual assault charges added to his harassment charge.

Stanley arrived in the U.S. earlier this month after cutting off a tracking device on Oct. 1, in the city of Lethbridge on the border of Alberta and Saskatchewan. Communities in both provinces were kept on high alert, while several schools were shut down on emergency basis, as authorities crammed through the area to find the convicted sex offender, but he was able to cross the border and enter the U.S.
