The winter storm that has spread thru out the United States is threatening the holiday season by blocking roads and making it impossible for planes to take off. The vicious storm has led to more than ten traffic fatalities and almost four hundred flights have been cancelled in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Sleet falls, snow and rain is going to keep areas blanketed in Southern Rockies and Southern Plains on Monday.

The National Weather Service informed that after showering in the south, the storm is going to focus on the Northeastern areas of America which can lead to more travel delays. Texas and Lubbock, famous for warm weather are covered in piles of snow. The winter storm system has already attacked areas including New Mexico, California, Texas, Lubbock and Oklahoma and has been blamed for eight deaths in the country. ‘This is more of a January, February-type weather event,’ said Dennis Cain, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service, “It’s not rare, but it’s not very common either.”

The East Coast is expected to face freezing temperatures which are cold even by standards for a January winter. Around 43 million Americans are expected to travel more than fifty miles on Wednesday but the East Coast will be dealing with socked roads and windy snow storms. This could lead to more traffic casualties. ‘Substantial snow will unfold from the spine of the Appalachians to the St. Lawrence Valley and far northern New England,’ said the Accu Weather senior meteorologist Kristina Pydynowski while forecasting the weather for Wednesday.
