Several sources have confirmed that Ottawa EMS was called on to the Prime Minister’s residence at 24 Sussex Drive last Saturday night, where an 18-year-old girl needed to be taken to hospital for severe intoxication. The news has been confirm by the RCMP, although it refrained from confirming who the call was for. Although the agency confirmed that the call was not for Stephen Harper or anyone of his family members. In its statement, RCMP said that “this was a medical call and not a police matter. It did not involve any of our protectees.”

Meanwhile, the PMO confirmed that it would not comment on the matter. The PMO’s refusal to comment on the issue has received sheer criticism. Glen McGregor mentioned in a tweet that “PMO refusing comment on drunk teen girl at 24 Sussex taken away by ambulance,” And in another that “here’s a chance for the PM to address an issue every parent of teens struggle with. Instead, PMO goes into information lockdown.”

According to a report by a Quebec radio station, the EMS were called to attend to an 18-year-old female who suffered from suspected case of alcohol poisoning.
